For the first assignment in our Game design course, we, in group of five, were told to create our own simple board game based on the story from the news. There were paper, marbles, straws and many different materials to work with.

The planning part was the most difficult thing to do, and the rules were very tricky to make too. We spent most of our time in class setting up the regulation and the board setting. Never though creating a simple board game to make it function properly and prevent the game burnout would be this complicated. It made me appreciate the game I played even more.
After making the game, we did not actually do the trial run. We added "Clues" system in our board game where the player needs to draw a clue card and follow its instructions. We set trap and also have the false destination. However, we don't know weather it would work or not. If we have more time, I would love to do the trial run and see how it goes.

Here is final version of our board game we created. With clue cards and the rule. I'm fascinated how much we'd learned just from making a single game.
Another exercise I did is the Battleship Game, which I honestly have never played it once so I got no clue of its rule.
In this, we had to change the rule of the game and play it in our own style. I literally had no idea.
but I'd love to try changing the rules once I know how to play this game.
